Dear Gadfly,
Thanks
for a great article (Where to
Begin?) and for the education on the history of Communism. I am hopeful
many will read this article and your following articles on the history of
communism, which you document is alive and well in the USA.
Your
article begs the question “Where to Begin”. I suggest we begin outside “the
Box”.
If
we are teaching lies to our students, how is it that we expect them to know the
truth? If we are teaching nothing of value to our students, how is it that we
expect them to have knowledge (including the lessons of history)?
For
informed millennials, the description you provide of the horrific torture,
mutilation and murder of Russians by their own government during the Bolshevik
Revolution and Stalin’s reign are passed off as an attribute of Communism and are
no longer a problem because most Americans believe Communism is dead. They will
place this information in their junk mail box along with the millions murdered
by Hitler, Mao, Pol Pot and other leaders of anti-America isms with the belief
that modern government has reformed and no longer tortures and murders its
citizens. Anti-liberty Isms, including Communism, must purge their countries of
Judeo Christian religion and principles and have government control of the
media and a compliant citizenry before they can assume absolute power. Due to
an excellent brain washing job by our popular American media and a failed
education system, millennials do not know history and do not associate
Communism with Progressivism.
The
current actions of our modern Progressives in America, as demonstrated by their
rejection of the 2016 Presidential election and their further rejection of
attempts by President Trump to restore governance by the Constitution and our
founding principles, are as rabid as the early acts of the Bolsheviks (as
described in your article) when they went after the Mensheviks. As Hitler
assumed more power, we saw this advance of violence in the acts by his Brown
Shirts. It was only when they could assume full power that whole sale murder
and torture began.
Are
common values the glue that makes a successful society? Modern education
teaches its students that Progressivism, Socialism, Communism and Islamism want
to live in harmony with Judeo Christian values and our Constitution – even when
these isms directly state their goal is total domination and the eradication of
all beliefs other than their own. Where is it that history tells us that
America can have a large contingent of their population that have beliefs that
are antithetical to our Constitution and yet we can remain a Republic? Of
course, history tells us this is not possible.
“Where
to Begin”? We are at the point in America that the arriving generation, now
a large urban minority of whom
is admitted socialists, will soon be a socialist majority and who will vote and govern our Republic accordingly. I
challenge and urge you, and writers like you who know history and understand
and write of the American dilemma, to think outside “the box” and describe solutions that take into consideration the
glaring social and economic data that tells us a Constitutional Republic for
our 50-state union is not sustainable. If there is a solution, it must be
articulated in writing. This, I believe, is “Where to Begin”?
What is “the box”?
The box is believing that our problems in America are cyclical and
can be solved by the next election. (Our
problems are structural and require fundamental changes to restore
Constitutional governance. America’s problems will not be solved by the “next”
election).
The box is believing we are governed by the Constitution. (We are no longer governed by the
Constitution, we are governed by the Administrative State).
The box is believing solutions can be provided by a political
savior(s) who will solve our problems. (There
are no political saviors).
The box is believing Progressives must follow the Constitution and
abide by the “law”. (Progressives have
no intention of abiding by the Constitution - they despise it).
The box is believing we have a lot of time to solve our problems. (Demographics are destiny and are
irrefutable. Europe and California are examples).
The box is believing education alone can solve our problems. (Plato, Aristotle and Jefferson told us we
cannot have a Republic without patriots-are we making Patriots in our public
schools and universities?).
The box is believing somehow “right will win out”. (Our
founding fathers did not negotiate with the Crown. They used their Judeo-Christian
principles as an inspiration, and not a refuge, and they acted upon them.)
Today
our Constitutional Republic, called America and the United States, exists in
the hearts and minds of citizens mostly in our red states but is absent in the
halls of Congress and classrooms of our public schools and universities. I an earlier private response to Gadfly, I said “our 50-state union is not sustainable.” This
is an uncomfortable thought at best. I am continually searching for proof that
my statement is not true; however, economic, cultural, social and data
documenting America’s decline is difficult to ignore.
Restoring
our Republic, if it is a Constitutional Republic we want, will be a disruptive
process and one most Americans do not have the stomach for. If you are
interested, I will comment more on this, and how to restore Constitutional
governance in on-going correspondence with you.
Regards,
Ed
Ed,
ReplyDeleteThank you for your thought piece. I think you have framed it well, and I look forward to continuing this conversation as prelude to and preparation for moral action.
Best,
